Think and GrThink and Grow Rich: The Landmark Bestseller Now Revised and Updated for the 21st Century. Please note that this item is a roughcut (deckle edge) edition

Think and Grow Rich has been called the “Granddaddy of All Motivational Literature.” It was the first book to boldly ask, “What makes a winner?” The man who asked and listened for the answer, Napoleon Hill, is now counted in the top ranks of the world’s winners himself.

The most famous of all teachers of success spent “a fortune and the better part of a lifetime of effort” to produce the “Law of Success” philosophy that forms the basis of his books and that is so powerfully summarized in this one.

In the original Think and Grow Rich, published in 1937, Hill draws on stories of Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and other millionaires of his generation to illustrate his principles. In the updated version, Arthur R. Pell, Ph.D., a nationally known author, lecturer, and consultant in human resources management and an expert in applying Hill’s thought, deftly interweaves anecdotes of how contemporary millionaires and billionaires, such as Bill Gates, Mary Kay Ash, Dave Thomas, and Sir John Templeton, achieved their wealth. Outmoded or arcane terminology and examples are faithfully refreshed to preclude any stumbling blocks to a new generation of readers.

Finally! a clean and unabridged edition. I had to purchase two other editions before finding this one. It is clean, good size font, and true to the original 1937 wording. Published by Dauphin Publications ISBN 978-1939438256. Nice job!

Cheesy? Maybe. Solid, inspirational, and effective? Yes.

Hill’s Outwitting the Devil is one of my favorite books and I’ve heard much about TAGR I figured I’d check it out. I’m not generally a fan of the self-help genre, and I’m not big on setting goals, but I couldn’t help but be inspired by this book. It can feel a little fluffy at times, but when put into practice, the basic concepts are powerful and there is no denying that all success begins in the mind. Reading this book got me expanding my ambitions. It’s a relatively quick read, and it’s worth checking out.

This is a must read, I bought a couple of these for family members. This version has large font that I’m not really fond of, but the content is great. It’s surely the first and foremost “selfhelp” book ever. Every modivational speaker either quotes, paraphrases or uses this book as a basis for their “own” philosophy.

Think and understand yourself.

This book was written after the “Great Depression”, many pf the people interviewed were famous, industrious and Rich. I liked this book because it gave me perspective from the past but was very appropriate for the here and now. The same mistakes, successes, excuses all of these men had were no different than what we all face today. The answers we all seek to become successful are “in us”, we just need to acknowledge them. This book also confirms our fears, misgivings and self created excuses that we all have but need to recognize before we can move forward. I would recommend this book to anyone that has self doubt regarding whether or not they think they are heading in the right direction to have a financial rewarding life full of meaningful relationships .

Timeless Classic!

Timeless information, great words of wisdom, and excellent advice from, perhaps, the greatest personal development book ever published. Napoleon Hill wrote this book between the two World Wars, consequently the language and phraseology can appear dated. The information is not organized in the easy to find and cross-referenced format the modern reader is accustomed to. And since the era in which it was written was dominated by men, the book assumes business success was exclusively the realm of men — which in today’s more equal world can grate — hence only 4 stars. Nonetheless, a classic book, and an essential part of any personal development library.
