I like how it has a louder ticking sound so he … I purchased this for my 11 year-old son for when he plays the piano. I like how it has a louder ticking sound so he can hear it over his music. It has the option of a bell dinging at 2/4/6 beats so, if needed, it keeps him on track per measure when reading music. This can be set to zero if desired, which is excellent because I don’t anticipate us needing it with every piece. It feels like it is good quality and easy to use. The cover protects the wand when he transports it in his backpack. Would definitely recommend! Especially at the affordable price.

Loud mechanical metronome The body of the metronome is made of a hard shiny plastic. I followed the simple and clear instructions on how to take it out of the box and get it working. It works fine. I did use it against our electronic metronome and it was just slightly different as the notches on this mechanical metronome is not as exact as the electronic one. The body is made out of a hard shiny plastic. I like the visual aspect of this metronome (and so do my kids) versus those electronic ones for my kids who are learning to play instruments. When you change the level of the tempo by moving the pendulum weight, it helps that there are ridges so the pendulum clicks into place and also so that it doesn’t slide. You cannot change the volume, so I did find the metronome a little loud especially for the violin as it overpowered my kid’s music playing.

This metronome has a very nice, soothing sound This metronome has a very nice, soothing sound. It is easy to adjust the tempo and is always very consistent. It helps my daughter with her singing tremendously as she is able to keep a steady pace when she practices. It’s a bit overwhelming at first because I presumed it would be hard to get functioning– while it was fairly easy to get working, the pictures on the manual that came with it were helpful and even more so for those who are clueless when it comes to assembly. The only downside is that it is fairly louder than other metronomes I’ve owned in the past. However, the quality outweighs the only con I could think of and am very satisfied with my purchase
